Vortex Solutions of the High-κ High-Field Ginzburg-Landau Model with an Applied Current

چکیده
In this paper, we study the single-vortex solutions of a two-dimensional high-κ high-field Ginzburg-Landau model of superconductivity with a constant applied current. Under a nondegeneracy condition and for appropriate ranges of the applied magnetic field and applied current, we construct some special solutions which, up to a constant shift of phase in time, are the stationary solutions of the model equation. Our result provides partial justification to the existence of a critical applied current which is the one important step towards a rigorous mathematical characterization of the interactions between the quantized vortices and applied electric current.

Vortex Motion Law for the Schrödinger-Ginzburg-Landau Equations
In the Ginzburg-Landau model for superconductivity a large Ginzburg-Landau parameter κ corresponds to the formation of tight, stable vortices. These vortices are located where an applied magnetic field pierces the superconducting bulk, and each vortex induces a quantized supercurrent about the vortex. The energy of large-κ solutions blows up near each vortex which brings about difficulties in a...
متن کاملExact solutions of the 2D Ginzburg-Landau equation by the first integral method
The first integral method is an efficient method for obtaining exact solutions of some nonlinear partial differential equations. This method can be applied to non integrable equations as well as to integrable ones. In this paper, the first integral method is used to construct exact solutions of the 2D Ginzburg-Landau equation.
متن کاملLimiting Vorticities for the Ginzburg-landau Equations
We study the asymptotic limit of solutions of the Ginzburg-Landau equations in two dimensions with or without magnetic field. We first study the Ginzburg-Landau system with magnetic field describing a superconductor in an applied magnetic field, in the “London limit” of a Ginzburg-Landau parameter κ tending to ∞. We examine the asymptotic behavior of the “vorticity measures” associated to the v...
متن کاملVortex Pinning with Bounded Fields for the Ginzburg–landau Equation
– We investigate vortex pinning in solutions to the Ginzburg–Landau equation. The coefficient, a(x), in the Ginzburg–Landau free energy modeling non-uniform superconductivity is nonnegative and is allowed to vanish at a finite number of points. For a sufficiently large applied magnetic field and for all sufficiently large values of the Ginzburg–Landau parameter κ = 1/ε, we show that minimizers ...

In (2 + 1) dimensions, the Maxwell term − 1 4 F αβ F αβ can be replaced by the Chern-Simons three-form (κ/4)ǫ αβγ A α F βγ , yielding a novel type of 'electromagnetism'. This has been proposed for studying the Quantum Hall Effect as well as High-Temperature Superconductivity. The gauge field can be coupled to a scalar field either relativistically or non-relativistically. In both cases, one adm...
